We are all guilty of the extra treat here and there. However, the real truth is that pet obesity is becoming more prevalent. Just like in humans, obesity can cause a number of serious health related issues.
  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Joint Disease
When discussing weight, we never want to offend anyone. Weight issues can be difficult to deal with and come with some emotions and stigmas. The hard truth of the matter is that the weight of an animal plays a very large role in their longevity.

In many cases, simple changes can be done to get your pet back on a healthy track. Dr. Seymour will work with you in developing a diet and exercise plan tailored for your individual pet.

How do I know if my pet is overweight?
  • Can you feel and count your pets ribs when lightly running your hand down their side?
  • When looking at your pet from above, can you see an hourglass figure near the midsection?
  • When you observe your pet from the side as it stands, can you see a slight upward tuck of the stomach?

If you answered no to any of these, your pet may be overweight.
